The business of 'Human Terrains' and indeed the name is all about promoting peaceful understanding by:

  1. Understanding the meaning left behind by humanity's footprint; in stories, implements and art - the tangible and intangible cultural landscape
  2. Understanding the differences and similarities between cultures
  3. Understanding how we make meaning of our own very short lives and how this meaning impacts the world around us

Anthropology as an academy provides a lens for understanding and interpreting why humans do as we do individually and collectively.

As the future becomes 'now', we argue for the immediate application of an anthropology of Artificial Intelligence - to critique the colonisation and 'disruption' of the human body and body politic by machines.
